Cornelia Woll is a political scientist focusing on comparative and international political economy, in particular business−government relations and economic regulation in Europe and the United States. A founding co-director of MaxPo from 2012-2015, she returned to the center in 2019, after serving as Sciences Po’s Vice President for Studies and Academic Affairs for 3 years. She holds a habilitation in political science from the University of Bremen (2013), a binational PhD from Sciences Po and the University of Cologne (2005), and a MA and a BA in international relations and political science from the University of Chicago. She held a visiting chair at the Goethe University Frankfurt in 2018 and was a visiting fellow at the Center for European Studies at Harvard University in 2011/12. Her publications include a book on bank bailouts in the recent financial crisis (The Power of Inaction, Cornell University Press, 2014) and on the liberalization of service trade (Firm Interests, Cornell University Press 2008). Other work has examined economic patriotism, Europeanization, economic policy and the role of business and employers' organizations in politics.
