Meryem Bezzaz holds a Master's degree in Political Science from McGill University and received a Bachelor in Economics and Political Science
from the University of Montreal (UdeM). Prior to joining MaxPo, she participated as a research assistant and analyst in several projects conducted by the Montreal Centre for International
Studies at UdeM (CERIUM) and the Center for Interuniversity Research and Analysis of Organizations (CIRANO).
Her research interests include political economy, natural resources, international relations and the transformation of capitalism. Her project aims to provide a comparative political
economy perspective on resource-rich countries’ ability and willingness to cooperate. It articulates a conceptual framework for the analysis of the transformation of decision-making
structures and processes, highlighting the interplay between international and domestic politics.
