Ömer Faruk Metin obtained his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a minor in History from Bilkent University, Ankara in 2018. Prior to joining MaxPo, he participated as a research assistant in several projects conducted by UNESCO IIEP, Sciences Po Médialab, and Migration Research Center at Koç University. In June 2020, Ömer received a Master’s degree from Sciences Po, Paris School of International Affairs, where he wrote his master thesis on the “Measurement of Populism with Text Classification” using Facebook posts from Yellow Vests supporters. Ömer’s doctoral research project in Political Science at MaxPo will explore the relationship between populist support and inequalities in selected European countries with a particular focus on housing, political participation, and digital literacy.
